The Lotus and the Lonely Heart

The lotus blooms, a tranquil sight,
Where once your eyes held warmth and light.
Now bathed in silence, searching deep,
You chase a peace my heart can't keep.

My hand outstretched, a silent plea,
But brushed aside by serenity.
The walls you build of mindful thought,
Leave me adrift, a vessel caught.

The laughter lines, once etched so fine,
Now canyons are carved by passing time.
Where stolen moments used to bloom,
Now chants and mantras fill the room.

The scent of incense, sharp and sweet,
Replaces memories, bittersweet.
Is this the path to Nirvana's shore?
Or have I lost you evermore?

Perhaps one day, with heart at rest,
I'll find a solace in your quest.
But for tonight, beneath the moon's soft gleam,
I long for whispers of a life we dreamed of.
