Love Poem: The Lionness

The Lionness

She swoops forward with presence
Sidestepping only to amaze
Her smile, an eclipse of dominance
Beneath a shade of luminous grace

A many songs I've written
Depicting this sting I feel
But none will come close to capture
The way she makes my senses peel

I gather my remains, split them
She feels no sorrow, all but purity of heart
her skin redeems my shadows
and into warmth the day starts

A woman can tangle your veins
dance with your blood
I still let her in, my atrocity begins
But my sin compels me to drought the flood

My mind drifts to a dream I've seen
When her face lit my mind free
Nights before when sleep disturbed
The inner images of her sweetness berserk

She sat and pat my head
Waves of solid white comfort
Slowly showered my dripping back

And all the sweat resonated with sweet scent
And all the nights rained with bliss
And all my lanterns torched in flames
Melted sugar breath to my lips

"Honey I'm here now rest easy
Let it all go when our eyes fly away
Tomorrow I'm here too so don't you worry
Hate when you're eyes take a shade of blurry"
