Love Poem: The Last Kiss

The Last Kiss

I will never, ever forget that last sweet kiss, while holding my baby boy to my beating heart; then, I had to let him drift up to his abyss, I would give my own life so that he not depart. While holding my baby boy to my beating heart, my boy who never got to see the azure sky; I would give my own life- so that he not depart, asking my God why, why him, why not let me die. My boy who never got to see the azure sky, I would have given him all my knowledge each day; I ask my God why, why him, why not let me die, and now I go to his small lonely grave to pray. I would have given him all my knowledge each day, oh, the day he was buried, I was made of stone; and now I go to his small lonely grave to pray, I have no emotion- I am ice to the bone. Oh, the day he was buried, I was made of stone, then, I had to let him drift up to his abyss; I have no emotion- I am ice to the bone, but will never, ever forget that last sweet kiss. ___________________________ November 27, 2018 Poetry/Pantoum/The Last Kiss Copyright Protected, ID 18-1089-244-01 All Rights Reserved.
