The Joyous Father

My joy is achieved by witnessing my children’s joy,
the pride they emit through accomplishing a good deed.
My love is increased by the love my children shower
upon each other and what the world presents them.
My life is enhanced by the successes my children meet
as they learn and grow from their accomplishments.

Through my children, I feel very accomplished;
I have been blessed by God so joyously.
No purer pleasantness shall I ever meet
than catching my child doing a good deed.
I try my hardest to display my pride in them
as upon them compliments and praise I shower.

If joy were rain, then I am caught in a shower
and the cleansing of my soul has been accomplished.
The thanks for this I owe all to them:
my children; my pride and joy.
Why has God smiled upon me with this deed?
I’ll ask her should we ever meet.

I am sure, if my children you are lucky enough to meet;
in their pleasant glow you will certainly be showered.
You , I am sure, will thank me indeed
and deem me a father, quite accomplished.
You will come to appreciate the source of my joy
and understand the pride I feel for them.

There is nothing I would not do for them
as recompense for the happiness that I meet
in watching them and the life they enjoy
and witnessing the successes in which they shower.
Because of my children, when my last breath is accomplished
I will die a happy man indeed.

In life I have been blessed indeed;
in a life I have lived for them;
in life I have achieved an accomplishment;
when the challenge of being a father I did meet;
in life, my children I hope I have showered
with the lessons for living a life of joy.

So in life, if ever there was a good deed that I could possibly do for them, especially,
it would be for myself to be accomplished in every trial and tribulation that meets me
and so upon them they are showered with lessons in the joy of pleasing others.
