Love Poem: The Hill

The Hill

The sun was setting where i sat,
reliving the moment of where i was at,
the broken glass shattered all around,
the grass spread flat down to the ground,
the yellow tape that warned me not to pass,
out of anger, i wanted to rip right in half,
placing my hands down on the spot where you lay,
with dirt filled tears streaming down my face,
at that very moment, silence filled the air,
so surreal,,the numbness took me there,
as i caught my breath and stood to my feet,
how i looked in front of everyone meant nothing to me,
the other half of me was stolen that day,
i saw the enemy laugh in my face,
after that day my life wasn't the same,
after that day my heart changed,
i went to the church were i grew up,
the pastor prayed with me and said never give up,
God loves you more than you will ever know,
and i pray he will place you with a family were your heart can grow,
and at that moment i could not see my life as i did before,
God was replacing that pain, and in turn gave me more,
He softened my heart in ways i can't explain,
He took that fear and replaced it with love that day,
