The Heat

As the temperature rose I began to feel heat.
It burned so bad I could feel the crackling under my feet.
My Palm’s felt warm as if they were sweaty.
I was almost willing but unsure if I was ready.
The sweat beads on my forehead began to trickle
It was a funny feeling in my stomach it felt like a tickle.
Maybe every one was around me but I knew I stood alone.
Many nights I yearned for you but you never came home.
I thought about the way you smelled and your soft touch.
I wanted to move slowly because I knew there was no rush.
My heart was so tender like it was ready to melt.
You might have just gone to work but I realized it was love that I felt.
