Love Poem: The Heart Test

The Heart Test

I look at the moments long since passed,
Times before my heart could grasp,
Coiled so tightly in order to bounce back,
The grips of life pressure while under attack,
Holding on meant letting go,
In order to save the heart I know,
What was seen as weakness was strength at its best,
Sometimes alone to see the heart of the test,
But once understood released set me free,
Love doesn't need to try so hard to be,
Falling into place while losing control,
Taking you down the path where your heart will grow,
Oh, regrets.....yet there are none to see,
Every piece played a part for my heart to breathe,
Love traveling at the speed of light,
While we move in slow motion, it's beyond our sight,
In that moment of regression, the mind becomes still,
The heart hears the beat and the emotions are real,
Realer than the distractions the mind has conceived,
Love brings me back, and that's all I can see.
