Love Poem: The Girl Who Wears a Mask

The Girl Who Wears a Mask

Every morning when I get up- I reach for my mask, and why do I want to hide myself, you ask? I hide my regret and forever, ever pain, I wear a mask with a smile so I don't go insane. So my family and friends will think I am fine, I laugh and shine and tell them my life is divine; no one knows behind this mask is a girl shattered, my heart and soul ever tattered and battered. Oh why, why is my love but a name engraved, and why, why could my baby not be saved; I wear this happy mask to hide my broken heart, but deep, deep within me dwells the sweet part. _________________________ September 4, 2017 Rhyme/The Girl Who Wears A Mask Copyright Protected, ID 937262
