Love Poem: The Gentle Knight

The Gentle Knight

Thy helmet with dents and blood stained,
my sword weakened unable to use.
I fought as if all were well, while moving onto the field,
Charger, my stallion so weak yet strong.
The flag I carried draping upon the ground,
casting a shadow without any light.
With the Castle gates locked and an empty sight,
we entered the Castle, a look of gloom.
The King lay dying with the queen by his side,
all seem lost until I saw my new bride.
A smile on her face she knew, I was alive,
No food nor shelter no matter she cried,
alone came her Gentle knight by her side.
This story I am told nor real or old,
These two came together upon their sight,
clasping together one to another, so tight.

With, her Gentle Knight
