The Games You Play

Promises of yesterday faded footprints in the snow. For; tears can't wash lies away, no matter how hard they flow. Love is a lesson in trust, yet you don't mean what you say. For; your heart's fueled by lust, and I'm feeling led astray. Lighting Hope's funeral pyre, doubt turns everything to ash. And when love is set on fire, it burns within anger's flash. Time confirms what others say, my life is in a sad state. And love's merely a cliché, oft misused and out of date. You're no longer in control, I won't play the games you play. And at the cost of my soul, damn you; leave and stay away.
