The Game
Summer is when the game is played,
and boyhood heroes are made.
Every boy you see is eager to play,
and find a place to get a game underway.
They play on an old dusty field,
often where future stars are revealed.
They always dream about playing the game,
traveling from city to city with all the fame.
But then boys grow up and turn into men,
and remember how it was back then.
How great it was to play,
so many memories were made in just one day.
Life would never be the same,
If I had never played the game.
