Love Poem: The Frost Abound

The Frost Abound

This winter’s night is cold. The frost abound
the leafless trees that line the city streets
as amber lamps are humming lullaby.
No tender rosy scent that softly greets
the raucous crows who deftly hunt then fly;
yet in this silent world my love is found.
I feel her warmth embrace my icy hand
to stir my dreams in lattés frothy cup
as my eyes look towards the sky and up
I know her lips are where my kisses land.

The summer sun reflects. The golden rays
that shimmer high above the leafy green
the only shade on this first day of June.
A vibrant rose portrays my heart; unseen
my words declared beneath a silver moon
at last, my eyes now meet her desirous gaze.
The vow of love; a promise for her delight
a pledge of truth beyond the world of life
for her alone, I call by name of wife,
the love I hold throughout the darkest night.
