Love Poem: The Flowers

The Flowers

If flowers could speak they would speak only the truth,
They would tell the world of the love we share.
Under Diana’s moon by the lake,
As the moonlight finds its way through the pine trees
while the sweet rabbits found rest in their borrows
and the owls took flight.

Our faithful friends were awake and saw us
As we dance across the lake,
While I picked a star from the sky and gave to you,
This was to be our secret
 But the flowers already know.

They also know of the time we found rest under heaven’s sun
With your arms around me and your golden locks
Where spread across the soft grass
And then did me kiss my love’s tender lip
The flowers saw this and said not a word.
 Not a word.
