Love Poem: The Fireflies Light

The Fireflies Light

Paper lanterns lit drift off in the night
fireflies twinkle reflect in the pristine lake
Noah would have been proud couples embrace
Never in doubt this so called human race

Under the maple with the trunk as my date
I look past the glitter, the sparkle, the fake
Up to the stars where my forefathers told
Stories of angels where Heaven unfolds

Where is my angel, oh where can she be
Up in the mountains where temperature's low
Or down in the valley where daisies do grow
The one by the sea who's trapped in her tower
Or next to the butterfly and her delicate flower

I stare for a minute then search deep inside
For answers or meaning on this one ticket ride
Out in the vastness I feel her right there
Looking out too for a heart she can share

As with the lanterns and the fireflies' light
Love will come shining when the timing is right
