The Fire Inside

THE FIRE INSIDE

A fire that burns in the heart of man
It's a strong emotion known as pride
Try as hard is he possibly can
It's so difficult to hide

Until the woman of his dreams
Suddenly comes along
He becomes like peaches and cream
Although he wants to seem strong

The fire inside burns brightly
But it's no longer from pride
And it's not to be taken lightly
His emotions are churning inside

Since he had swallowed all his pride
He asked her for a date
Hoping he would not be denied
'Cause that would seal his fate

She said yes, I'd love to go
And spend some time with you
We can start things off real slow
And see where they lead us to

And now the rest is history
The fire inside is still bright
They're married and have a family
It all turned out just right
