Love Poem: The Dress

The Dress

I am the sea daffodil,
Half-bud, half-girl,
But tomorrow is my last night,
When my sisters dress me white,
I am a flower among the waves
And my love is carried by them.

I am ready to blossom
Under the saffron moon,
He will collect me with a bow
And kiss me shortly over my brow,
I will whirl my long milky petals
As I listen the voice of my beloved.

Now the birds will sing
Like they sang to a king,
A diadem is placed on my head
And in my heart my eyes can read:
I am the Rose of Alexandria
My beloved is mine, and I am his.
