Love Poem: The Day That Was

The Day That Was

You heard about the day that could’ve been
And should’ve been
This was the day that was
Full of raw sexual passion
And atypical love
I guess the time and place didn’t matter
Nor was it an issue
This all got started
Just cus I wanted to kiss you
Because I missed you
And you missed me too
I guess that helps explain
All the crazy stuff we do.
You are my equal
And my equivalent
I anticipate more days like that
Where we get intimate
As I got into it
Dove in head first
But I was quick to back out
Before my head burst
On this occasion there was no remedy
On this day kids and mosquitoes were the enemies
We entered the course
At the risk of countless mosquito bites
Hormones through the roof
And witnessing a space that was tight
But it felt right
And it felt good…the love
…This is just the beginning of
Not the day that could…but the day that was.
