The Day I Forgot How To Say Goodbye

The Day I forgot to say goodbye,
was the exact day I saw you for the first time,
your eyes glazed with fiery emotion
and my heart felt the heat from your blushing cheeks,
your heart, a ruby, glorious and beautiful,
and your soul a diamond shinning crystal blue
that was the day I forgot how to say goodbye.

The day I forgot how to say goodbye,
was when I talked to you for the first time,
I heard your voice, like exotic music to my ears,
I've never heard before,
I fell into the storm of love with you.

The day I forgot how to say goodbye,
was when I touched you gently on your arm,
and you did too, to me- and I snuck a kiss on your cheek
and your cheeks blushed,
and I say you smile for the first time,
that was the day I forgot how to say goodbye.

The day I forgot how to say goodbye,
was the day we walked home from long walks
going no where and somewhere at the same time,
we danced in the rain,
and you showed me your scars over hot tea...
and I noticed a broken heart in you, I kissed
you and you said to me, "you make it all better."
And I fell deeper for you, falling for you harder
and crash I am in love with you.

The day I forgot how to say goodbye,
was when I buried you.
I stay there beside your tombstone,
and sang you those songs you used to love to dance to,
and I loved to watch you,
and I too joined in those dances,
and With you lowered into the Earth,
My love went with you
and my heart as well,
that was the day I didn't want to say goodbye,
because you made me forget how to say it and
make it mean something.
