Love Poem: The Coming of Christ

The Coming of Christ

In bitter winter He came

For sweet warmth us to bring

Into the night he was born

                      For our souls to illumine

In a manger he was placed

                       For humility us to teach

                       Into poverty He was set

For the wealth of heavens with us to share

The hatred of the King Herod He confronted

For love in our hearts to instill

In a warring land He marched

For peace on earth to establish

                                   And

                  He, willingly, Himself sacrificed

For salvation to humanity to grant

                                For that

Let us all, my friends, sing alleluia

                                    For

Alone in life we walk no more!
