The Church Needs God's Power
The Church Needs God’s Awesome Power!
As a child, going to church was something we did.
It was just a part of the lifestyle we lived.
I remember the passion I had with my Bible to hold.
To me, it was precious. More precious than gold!
I remember during the service, there was time for prayer.
How much I wanted to be with my family there!
When the pastor preached, I’d often feel conviction.
How the service would end, was no one’s prediction.
You see, back then, no one cared if the service was longer.
I remember that so many would come around the altar!
I wanted to be a part of this! To know God was there!
How long it took to pray, no one seemed to care.
But how things have changed as the years have flown!
What I experienced, is distant from many homes!
Many churches don’t seek the presence of God, like before!
They’re more interested in how many enter their door.
Many don’t preach God’s truth. For worry they may offend.
They just want to love everybody, and be their friend!
How foolish is this way of thinking! God’s judgment is near!
It’ll begin with the church! And it’s almost here!
It's time for the church to wake up to God’s righteous call!
It’s seeking his presence, that makes life worth it all!
Jesus knows our heart! And seeks a church washed in his blood!
He needs a church that’s walking in the power of his love!
Experiencing God’s holy power doesn’t need to be in the past!
We can experience an abundance of God, that will always last!
God rewards those who believe and diligently seek his face!
Please come dear Jesus, and touch us with your mercy and grace!
We need God more! With each day that passes us by!
May serving HIM with our whole heart, be our daily cry!
