Love Poem: The Carpenter

The Carpenter

You taught me how to breathe again
Just to take my breath away
You taught me how to live again
Though I die a little each day

You've made a thousand promises
Not one of them you've kept
You said you'd never hurt me
Through all the tears I've wept

You said you'd never leave me
But you're no longer mine
You said you'd always show me love
It's true that love is blind

You said you'd always be there
You meant until you won't
You said you'd always love me
You meant until you don't

You must have been a carpenter
For you built these walls for me
I need someone to tear them down
And finally set me free
