The Beginning of a Beautiful Friendship

A subtle-less wink sparks an interest
That ignites a smile
All the while
Thinking hmmm, what if???
Words chosen selectively
Spoken respectfully
Effectively make their way
Back and forth over the air waves.
Bringing a smile to my lips
A sway to my hips
A bit bottom lip
Leaning back on my couch I sit
As with crossed legs I sip
On some Paul Masson with a twist
And I say to my smiling self,
Yeah, life is good!
For hours on end we conversate
As the minutes congregate
And time cultivates
The foundation of our friendship.
But how can this be?
So suddenly?
We know each other barely.
And now since the ice has been broken
Despite many words having been spoken
Let this be the token
Of a new found friendship
A bond not meant to be broken.
There's still so much more to say at
Future meetings of
Face to face greetings
Perhaps a cafe table seating?
Hmmm, what if ???
But as time and conversation
Nears their end
Mutual feelings bring forth
Comfort and healing
Revealing a light to the clearing
The groundwork has been laid.
A detection of sadness
Was sought in my eyes
From a photo of me
I will not lie
It won't be denied
But I've had God and time
On my side.
This is the beginning of
A beautiful friendship
That was obviously meant to be.
