Love Poem: The Awakening

The Awakening

It's the space where I can breathe
ascending mountains yonder
A green expanse where souls can feed
and be filled with all God's wonder

Soft white clouds caress my face
as I soar through winds around me
All shades beneath blend and embrace
the speed of light can move me

So here I am..I'm heading where..
across a plane unknown
I turn and dive beyond my fear
a bird set free to go

gone past the day towards the night
I sail towards a star
No..too much darkness..I'm filled with fright
The star..it's distant..far

I cannot fly beyond this zone
I'm such a little light in all this vastness
Where is my God... I'm scared... I'm all alone
Lord pull me out of this darkness

With utmost speed I'm being drawn
I see this planet Earth
A sudden landing from where I'd been torn
inside here since my birth

I'll venture out again...I will..
Indescribable that high
Ecstatic..Free..Where time stands still
Where I'm part of wind and sky

Now consciously for God I look
to answer what I saw
As cautiously I read the Book
he leaves an open door

But darkness makes me feel I'm wise..
convinces me I'm weak
He shuts my ears and blinds my eyes
while I earthly pleasures seek

He plots the ways for me to die
He vows I'll never see
He turns the truth into a lie
that God is in Christ in me

How is it that I'm pulled out
of this deep and frightening hole
A sinner who has learned about
salvation for my soul

Unworthy as I lived in strife
yet now an example of reform
that all may know what is that Life
that bonds Love and Light..transformed

Now no more held but taking hold
refusing to be captive
For inside of me is strength untold
no more to leave inactive

So get behind adversary
and tempt me not with sin
Great is the love that set me free
for whom I'll fight and win...
