Love Poem: The Artist
Frederic Parker Avatar

The Artist

To merge my art with lonely drops of rain,
And enslave thunder rolling from my breast.
Where storms are formed by a lover's pain,
And each breath heaves deeply, self-possessed
To render her face drawn within the storm,
As its shades are etched by loneliness.
Where darkness covers, the welling tides form,
They bring rain to dark places that confess.
Alone in my drawing, without a sun.
Drowning by storms dark, my head now creates.
Tethered to my sadness, I cannot run.
I crumble and fall by my own dictates.

This ghost of her face I've drawn, now tore,
Haunts me as I draw it, forevermore.
