The Age of Summer Love Was Kismet Kissed

The Age Of Summer Love Was Kismet Kissed
(a Sonnet duet)

Our summer love began in Gemini
with sultry eves of wooing escapades,
and as the moon did swoon as it drew nigh
my lust you stirred with strumming serenades.

Romance as rich as black queen tulip skies
adorned with precious gems of bijou light,
before they’d lose their lustre to sunrise
you’d shower me with diamonds of the night.

Impassioned kisses filled my sails with love,
a rhumba full of rapture neath the stars
with rhythmic teasing, undulations of
unbridled flame of Venus and my Mars.

The time of Libra brings a cool to days ~
still, autumn love sets aging leaves ablaze.

~~~
Yes my love, our joining was truly Fate
for immediately we both just knew,
hope had bellowed it is never to late
my destiny was love and life with you!
Love, ours glistening rubies and pearls
hot-love feasts served upon long golden trays,
memories, night love bathes in heated swirls
greatest treasure my soul embraces today!
In paradise my heart sought your soft touch
sweet embrace and curves of your luscious lips,
non-stop, crescendo was almost too much
on this earth, we took such heavenly trips!
Our fated romance proves that true love stays~
through it all, thick and thin, sorrowful grays
Susan's Note-
On May 17,2018, after I posted my Sonnet 'The Age of Summer Love', I received a lovely soup mail from my esteemed and kindhearted friend, Robert Lindley saying; 'Your poem so inspired me today!'  Robert had composed a beautiful Sonnet in which each of his stanzas and closing couplet was in response to each of mine. His poem was yet to be titled so he bestowed upon me this awesome honor of naming his poem, which was then titled; 'Our Ageless Love Was Kismet Kissed', posted on May 19, 2018. As you can imagine, I was moved and elated by his message and generous gesture.  I then suggested to Robert that I thought it would be wonderful to combine both poems into a 'Sonnet duet' format and repost our poems together under a combined title. To my great delight and appreciation, Robert agreed.  Thank you, my dear friend, Robert. I'm both honored and humbled by your talent and kindness. It is truly a blessing to share a friendship with you.
My Note-
I read Susan's wonderful creation and immediately sat down to write this sonnet in reply. I then sent it to her and told her how much her fine sonnet had inspired me and this creation was the result of that inspiration.
Together, we discussed combining the two sonnets, as in the new poem, now re-titled and given a new life.
A truly sincere act, was met by yet another - that of my friend suggesting that perhaps we present these two sonnets together, showing the second sonnet as the reply that it is..
We worked out the details and this is the resulting collaboration.
Hope you may enjoy this and see that friendship/fellowship in poetry is far, far better than competition/envy.
