That'D Be a Lie

I see through your eyes straight to your soul.
Bright stained glass windows never made the best doors.
If I said no, would you insist you were right?
I could say I don't love you, but that'd be a lie.
I'm seeing you through a spattered window pane
only your eyes are the glass and your tears are the rain.
Your wrenching despair is no fault of mine
yet it kills me to know that you're hurting inside.
I tried so hard right from the start
but I couldn't save my red paper heart.
If I said no, would you insist you were right?
I could say I don't love you, but that'd be a lie.
