Love Poem: That Little Rain

That Little Rain

The clouds above become gloomy and dark,
We both look up with a twinkle in our eye,
The earth below sends a mesmerizing sign,
As the little raindrop comes down to be mine.

The poet in me whispers with joy,
For no moment inspires him ever more,
Than watching those raindrops touch and grace,
The lashes of that beautiful face.

Will there ever be a happier moment,
Will there ever be a sweeter memory,
Will I ever see a prettier thing again,
As I look at you - dancing in the rain.

The raindrops seem prettier on your face,
You shrug them off and play with them,
A mere spectator, I resign to be,
For there is so much joy in simply watching thee.

There is a little rhyme in your smile,
There is a little rhythm in your dance,
Amidst the colors, raindrops and hue,
It seemed god wrote a little poetry in you.

Wisps of sunlight make their way through the trees,
And fall squarely on your dancing cheeks,
The clouds clear up, completing their errand,
And you walk up to me to hold my hand,

Ah! I will never forget this little rain,
The beauty I saw or the joy I gained,
Perhaps, it was just a sign from above,
To tell me I was deeply in love..
