Love Poem: That Girl

That Girl

Walking upon the moor one day,
I saw a girl standing alone in the shadow of the sun,
She wore a dress of pure white and had hair so black it was if a raven had
emptied it's feathers upon her head.
A single tear fell from her crystal cheek
and swept oceans from where it lay,
A drop of blood straight from her heart,
Staining her shining dress and seeping throughout until it was fiery red.

I remember wondering why she cried,
why her face was so full of sorrow while the sun blazed and the birds sung their
lullubys around her.
She caught me in her glance,
and raised a smile which trembled from her lips,
and sought familiarity in my features,
But i blinked and she was gone,
leaving only a single black feather as a mark of her presence.

I puzzled over it a while,
before turning and walking back down the gressy mound,
Taking one final look over my shoulder in a hope to catch a glimse of that
sorrowful angel,
Of whome i have never seen since.
