Love Poem: Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

Softly, gently the brisk cool breeze
Blowing through the golden trees
As the cool fall begins to settle in
Smells and beauty explode within
Warm sweet scents of baking pies
Fills our senses and delight the eyes
Home is bursting at it's seams filled with laughter
Building memories we'll remember long after
Family scurring all around such a precious sound
Lots of tales shared one with another abound
Everyone patiently waiting in anticipation
As the women fuss over every creation
With love and caring each one is working
While the children and men are somewhere lurking
Waiting, wondering just how soon as it's way past noon
We all sit down finally and bow our heads
Giving thanks for that which lies ahead
For the blessings we all enjoy this day
Knowing the love for each other is here to stay

This is my house when my 7 kids and 19 grandchildren get together. It is also how it was
when
I was younger and my siblings and kids gathered at mothers house. This year I am flying my
little Navy girl in to surprise the family. I can hardly wait! I am lucky to be a young 58
so I can
really enjoy this and we are building memories that will last.
