Love Poem: Terms of Endearment

Terms of Endearment

I felt the words rise
  and die before their birth,
  before they made a sound,
  before the mouth womb yield.
I saw within your eyes
  the turning of the earth,
  a contact to be found,
  a beauty that appealed.

I dreamed the walls descend
  to dust and nothing more,
  my secrets open wide
  for you to look upon.
I care, my sweetest friend,
  my love I so adore,
  I know it deep inside,
all doubt is dead and gone.

I pray for you to know
  my loneliness is fled,
  the space you occupy
fills all that I could be.
I need to tell you so,
  no words I've ever said
  could hope to clarify
how much you mean to me.
