Love Poem: Tell Me

Tell Me

Tell me that thy love be true,
And I will never ever distrust again.
My fairest, I do pledge never again to go insane
With rage, but be reborn from sin and bid adieu
To the pain that overtook and grew
In my broken body where jealousy did reign,
And controlled thy being through each and every vein
To proportions that were too impossible to subdue.

If thou do’st say thee does truly love me
Then consider thy mind and body clean,
Through the communion of thou dearest decree
Of love in its purest form that’s rarely seldom seen.
Take thy peasant hand and this guarantee,
I will be thy King—if thou will be thy Queen?
