Tears of the Heart

Tears of the Heart
By Jose Alejandro Montero

I let my dreams, grow and flourish with thee,
My passion, my love, I let them be yours in pure jubilee.

You grabbed, you claimed, you took my heart,
You took all of it, and then you tore it apart.

Took my love, and threw it to the dirt.
Stomped it, kicked it, till it really hurts.

You took it; you stabbed it with your horrid deeds of dread.
Oh, and you didn’t stop, till my tears were shed, till my heart had bled.

Never cared for me, never loved me at all.
You said you loved me; you would never let me fall.

You filled with me lies; you promised me your love.
Well look at me now, you left me hurt and crippled here, as if a dying dove.

Now I am stuck here, with memories of sorrow, something I thought was great.
Something you built up built up with love, then to tear it down with hate.

Now I am confused, heartbroken, and feeling alone.
Sitting in sorrow, from the things I have been shown.

To be left in ocean of sorrow, misery, of despair.
Oh, how I cry to the heavens, with my tears in the wind, oh how this is all too much to bear.

Now can’t you see me, see how I have been cursed?
To wade through the horror’s which you have caused, in which I am immersed.

Let me break through these chains of sorrow, oh please let me be.
For I am confused, I am lost, so please give me a chance, to once again see.

Release me from you spell, from your woe wrought incantation.
Please, let it come to an end, to this sorrow filled association.

If you enjoy in my misery, just say it so, do not hide behind those sickly veils.
Do not stand there, for though I may not be strong, I know alas that you will fail.

For I know, that I will break free from this place, this bane of bliss.
I am done; I no longer wish for you, to no longer reminisce.
