Love Poem: Swirling In a Quandary

Swirling In a Quandary

Swirling in a Quandary

I see the wicked gleam in your eyes,
as you snatch from my finger
your mother's quaint, platinum ring,
which had been the symbol of our eternal love.
Why are you breaking my heart,
when my only crime is loving you?
You let me go swirling in a quandary.
I can't convince you that I've been true;
you just won't let me through to you.
Doing penance in your twisted, dark heart,
the fragrance of your cologne lingers
long after you depart … making me insane.
I wander aimlessly up and down
the Quay of Lost Lovers,
who've lost their senses and their way.
My swagger's gone; my poise is gone;
go ahead, take pleasure,
watching me quiver...
playing your evil games
with my bruised heart.
