Love Poem: Sweetheart

Sweetheart

When the sun sets
Into a sky violet blue
As the first star appears
My thoughts are of you.

And as I gaze out
Upon a moonlit sea,
With lights dancing on water,
You are with me. . .

When I see a lovely flower
Bend to the breeze
I feel your breath on my neck
And I'm eager to please.

And as I fly to a distant land
You're so close in my thoughts,
I can feel your sweet touch
And the warmth of your hand.

I love your deep voice
And the things that you say,
And the way that you
Miss me when I am away.

I am unable to extinguish
This burning fire
That consumes my heart
With so much desire.

I long for the moment
When we will unite
And I'll share your sweet kisses
Throughout the night.

I 'm so very content
That you made me your wife
Because in living with you
I share a wonderful life!

One of my much earlier poems. . .very corny I know, but it is Valentine's Day.
