Love Poem: Sweet Surrender

Sweet Surrender

Has it been twelve long years since I met you, and still each kiss to my waiting lips is new. My dreams are full of our sweet desire, your touch on my skin still sets me on fire. You are the best thing that happened to me, with this beautiful love my spirit was set free. With my hand in yours we walk by the lake, you are smiling and then calling your name- I wake. When we are apart it is a terrible pain, yet no matter how far our bond is an unbroken chain. You had to go away my love it was not your choice, but in my dreams I can still hear your whispering voice. In a far off war you and others fight for peace, and I pray that the horrible fight will someday cease. I wish and wish that you will come home to me soon, until then- everyday I will play our love tune. Over and over I sing of my sweet surrender, the lyrics to the song are my thoughts so tender. And now you are home and standing at the door, and I leap into your waiting arms- forevermore. ________________________________ September 4, 2018 Poetry/Couplet/Sweet Surrender Copyright Protected, ID 18-1060-410-01 All Rights Reserved.
