Sweet Potatoes For Thanksgiving

Sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving,
And laughter for Christmas....

I always overate and was still hungry,
      -for my family.

Others have a hard time comprehending,
The intense love that we share.
It's few and far between,
So consecrated and rare.

I guess it's like the cool crisp breeze,
That fills your lungs in the fall,
And it's the warmth of hot coco,
While watching college football.

It's the affectionate smell of daisies,
Walking slowly into May,
The constant drip of sweat,
Creating summer castaways.

It's constant, safe and sure,
It's unconditional, free and holy,
Gratefulness fills up our hourglass,
As our hearts connect so slowly.

Blood and laughter,
Keys to places we all can go to,
Understanding and unconditional patience,
Of what we are each going through.

How am I so blessed,
How can this not be a dream,
Fantasy world, so sincere...
We make the perfect team.

We've all been born into each other,
So intense and unreal,
For we all have grown together,
God must have known how we would feel,
When He chose my father and mother,
So fresh and free, so undiscovered.

Sacred holy love,
Full of grateful appreciation,
We will live for years to come,
Passing the love onto each generation.

Sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving,
And a grateful life worth living.
