Sweet Peace

---------------------------------------------------

I stand over you and stare There is nothing to read—nothing there I want to hold you in my arms But I lack the eloquence—I lack the charms You are everything and more I know I’m just a creep—I know that I’m a bore You see through me fast Your soft eyes pierce through—cutting through my mask You gnaw your way into my past Without the slightest effort—without a glance My mind and heart are an open book But can you read it? —is it too painful to look? Anger wraps its wrath around My mind is clouded—my heart is bound White eyes drifting to the floor I want you more and more and more But the inadequacy is there Staring you down—making you scared My face is bare. . .my face is bare Do you even care? I want to know what is under YOUR mask I tell you all about me—but you never ask Can I ask you where your heart has gone? Where are you now? What planet are you on? I need to tell you I love you in advance Before it happens again—just give me a chance I want to know you in every way So my other side won’t tear you apart someday Let me lift your mask—I need to see your face Send me into sweet peace Sail me into your embrace
