Sweat

The sun is burning the passion out of me
And water is springing up all over me
It’s dripping, dripping, dripping
It is coming through my pores
And they are asking me for more
Purified and sanctified water, I just can’t deny it
The sensation is hidden somewhere below
And something miraculous is happening inside
And my spirit is burning, burning, burning
The fire cannot contain the fire in the morning
The music is shouting above the music
And the sound is mixing with sound
The passion is rising high, and fire is blazing in the sky
People are walking up and down the street and
The traffic is cursing around the town
And the cops are searching for the outlaws all around
They are ploughing through the village and streets with
A strict sign that reads. “Wanted dead or alive”
I walked slowly along the street, thinking
I thought about the events leading up to this stage
And the gruesome reality that I have to endure
I thought about you, and I have wondered about you
I have waited so long, Just to see the other side of you
I felt my hopes rising above my head and the
Passion kept jumping up and down in my bed
What’s more do you want me to do?
To let you know that I need you to come now
I have sent several messages for you to come
and take me home,
I want you to come and take me away from this place,
but it seems as if my message was absorb in thin air
I want you to come where I temporary reside
And take me with you, my patience is running out
And my hands are touching my mouth
The heat is spilling aggression in the environment
And the crucifix is dangling in heaven
The great big God is peeping through one eye
And every time it yawn someone cry above the heaven
Here I am sitting on the street corner steps
Penning this sensational verse and competing with the
Loud speaker, just two shops away from me
And occasionally listening to Kenny Rogers rhythmical beat
Sounding on the turntable, a few doors from me
The man selling pillar on the corner
Squeezed a man in the space beside me
Forcing me to leave that spot,
as he belches out verbal threat at me
“Goh whey from here”,
“leave this spot before a do you something”,the man pillar man shouts”
I have been ridicule up and down the town
Everyone wants to know what I am doing
Even though they see that I am writing
They are coming and going and collecting offering
The heat is growing, and my spirit is stirring
And multitude of people are walking up and down
Rocking to the nasty DJ beat,
The bag man walked by and shouts,
“Dem big market bag, two bills.”
“Two hundred dollars give you one a dem big market bag.”
I began to sweat, as if nothing else was left.
I sit quietly not messing with anybody
But everyone seem to have a problem with me
They call me batty man, lesbian and informer
Every day I get a new name, honestly I have no shame
How can it be that in three months I have made so many enemy?
I don’t know the people and they don’t know me
But someone has circulated a message in town
That has had everyone bound and stunned.
When I come out to the street,
 Everyone starts running up
and down and the cars start masquerading around
What have I to do with what? In this ruthless town
I still don’t know what is happening.
Here I am waiting,
I am waiting patiently for you to come and take me home
I Just want to leave this miserable town
My passion is rising and my spirit is leaping
Come and take me with you now before I drown.
I just want to go home,
This is not my home.
