Love Poem: Surround Me With Your Love

Surround Me With Your Love

When I lay down beside you,
feelings come rushing back
love, tenderness, passion
Thirty years together-- still so new

Love invades life entering the heart
when I look at you, I know inside me
time, the great deceiver, will not destroy
My pledge that we will never part

Those silver threads throughout your hair
like delicate fingers falling from the hazy moon
distinguished, sophisticated--husband
Remember--with you I'll go anywhere

The rush, the children, the bills
none of it matters--no one's to blame
as long as we lay together
Take tomorrow and the next...I am fulfilled

Never doubt and always treasure this
you mean much more than
when we were young--with you beside me
My life contains nothing but bliss

Fitting together--just a pair of mourning doves
do not fret about a lifetime
possibilities for the future, endless
Turn off the light, surround me with your love
