Love Poem: Sunshine and Roses

Sunshine and Roses

We belong together like sunshine and roses
And the raindrops can be our wedding bands
What will they think when the sunshine proposes
To a rose who wears a wedding ring without hands

The birds and bees will sing about the flower and the sun
The weeds will object, and say that it's just wrong
The moon speaks up and says what's done is done
As the birds and bees continue with their song

The trees will all be waving their limbs to wish us well
As the shade provides us with a marriage dance
The ivy says it's unnatural and that they're gonna tell
But even the ivy can't poison this romance

We belong together like sunshine and roses
I'll shine the light so your beauty can be seen
They will marvel at the love my light exposes
Then they'll know for sure what love should really mean
