Love Poem: Summers Heat

Summers Heat

Shedding wintry garments of solitude
As our affinity for passion grows
The yearn of our flesh and hearts, raw and crude
Were like heat persuading us from those clothes

We bathed in the sun, relished the hot kiss
All while wishing that it was each others
In gazes we saw our desires likeness
And over time we grew into lovers

That season engendered such a strong thirst
That kisses felt in our mouths like hard rain
Until the dams of self control all bursts
And you became mine, and I yours, to claim

You became my friend, companion, desire
We were swept away in sweet summer fire
