Love Poem: Summers Heat

Summers Heat

Summer's heat wafts of smoldering fire
When fervor burns white-hot as you come near
To share honey from your tongue's desire
With sensual whispered words to the ear
Through the dusk of day to sighs of the night
The sounds of Summer cause a burning need
To have hope and find such as this delight
Feel a cherished kiss, hungry to proceed
To end as silhouettes on farthest hill
Away from all, with the songs of a bird
And await the sunset's shadows to spill
As day becomes night and change is unheard
Until the sweat from our palms grows absent
The fragrance of love is a wondrous scent
