Love Poem: Summer Love

Summer Love

Summer love.

The summer came, the summer went,
And with it youths fresh love was spent.
And now I sit and dream of then
And wish those days were back again.
The warmth of sun and warmth of heart,
They both conspired to play their part
In what for me were dreams come true,
And now I sit and think of you.

That hazy day upon a hill
When all around the world was still.
The air was warm with heady scent
Of flowers and your perfume pent.
We laughed and talked of simple things,
With hopes of what the future brings.
we sat; our backs against a tree,
and watched the clouds go floating free.

So now for me the summers gone,
Life's race began and you moved on.
To where or what I cannot tell,
But you left behind an empty shell.
I really wish that now was then
So we could laugh and love again.
In what for me were dreams come true
And now I sit and think of you.
