Love Poem: Summer Love

Summer Love

On a yellow day, a summer love came my way.
Our longing eyes exchanged a lifetime’s energy.
We basked within the glow of love without delay,
as we feasted on the spice of our synergy.

Oh, sweet savor in delight of the summer bliss
as my intensive lover’s smell was paradise
gushing forth from his narcotic natural kiss
which made those starry, steamy July nights so nice.

This firecracker summer love was just a flaming
like red coals on pit grills with hot dogs in the yard.
By the start of September, we were both claiming
any form of separation would be quite hard.

The days have gotten shorter and have now grown cold.
My summer love is year round and as fine as gold.
