Strange Radiance - My Love Part Iii

Resolute and prepared, yet dubious and unsure
As my feet make their way to the sight they so adore
You brush your hair aside, as the twinkle in your eyes
A charming smile and subtle flush, greet me once more

I look into your eyes, a little longer than usual
And hugged your side, a little gentler, though grip a little stronger
Smiling back at your beaming face, warmer than before
My hand gently placed on yours, I’ll let it linger just a little longer

Your eyes, smile and cheek, though always stunning
And powerful enough to make my heart halt, had a different radiance to them today
The dreaminess in your voice, hasn’t gone unnoticed
Your strange clumsiness, your disappearing consciousness, what made them this way?

Lost in your tender voice, mind too occupied to ponder anymore
I walk with you hand in hand, until yours suddenly drops
I glance at my side, and see your fascinating eyes
Lost in the girl who’d just passed us by, my delight suddenly stops

Heart growing impatient, now that it all made sense
Your soul radiates love, yet none was directed my way
For your eyes only trailed behind her steps
Heart in pain, in agony my emotions lay

Your undivided love, was that too much to ask for?
A little hope that you’d reciprocate, was my judgment that amiss?
‘O Rose Blanc, your wise words weren’t so wise after all
For the path to my heart, wasn’t the path to his.’

‘All love is unrequited,’ a pine tree beside injects
‘Silence your demons, and reflect, once your wrath is decayed and burned
When you love a song, a novella, a shrine, a dwelling
Love is only true, when you never expect it to be returned’
