Strange Alice

Strange Alice
Young pretty girl, pink cheeks and sweet
Incarcerated, defeated at an early age
Locked in jail for crimes committed on the streets
Hauled away for killings in a rage

Soft blue eyes hide anger in sweet Alice
Her lover could not free her from her mind
Or the bars that house her and her malice
She had no tolerance for weakness of any kind

John is a timid man, evident in his demeanor
That sickened captured Alice who hates a coward
He dares not intervene to make her meaner
She would strangle him on the spot if angered

They were not the perfect couple
Better dead than alive was her motto when it came to men
If they let her out for a second with her scruples
She would kill him dead and call him friend

Perhaps if given half a chance she would reform
Pretty young girls don’t belong behind prison bars
She promises not to kill again and mourned
Swore not to murder men, as long as they were not from Mars
