Love Poem: Stolen Magic

Stolen Magic

You were the best magician in town they said
You made your audience gasp in awe and dread
You could saw a woman in two, in the news it read
You hypnotized with your hands instead
You were the sorcerer who played inner duality unsaid
You orchestrated and directed
I was shadowed in reactions and actions
The scene was set, my heart like drums began to beat
The audience now in for the final act, a treat
To saw a woman in two, was certainly no mean feat
You flashed your wand, of which you were so fond
An act of two began to roll, and there I lay down, swallowed by you whole
A bolt of lightening flashed, the audience saw me severed in two
Such a surrealistic view, as you took your bows for the final act
I was mesmerized by the magicians game who once more put me back again
You bent my gaze as you took center stage
I stood up the claps dying out, the prize of consolation no doubt
The magic that you spun, now the final act all done
I blinked and released your hold, backstage now, it seemed so cold!
The only magic I knew was the one that you stole!
