Love Poem: Stay With You

Stay With You

Like a lost puppy that needed a home
I wandered here and there
Looking for meaning each place I'd roam
I soon learned not to care

People would stop me on the street
Ask me the way to town
I'd laugh and tell them nice and sweet
They shouldn't stick around

I'd usually stay just long enough
To stir up mystery
Tell some jokes and act so tough
Making some history

When I slipped into the footloose mode
Knew my days were numbered
But wouldn't you know the magic flowed
My angel no longer slumbered

Into my wide-eyed vision you came
Put me in my place
I figured I'd never again be the same
When I gazed upon your face

You offered me more than just the world
Gave me unconditional love
Like a freedom flag my heart unfurled
My gratitude sent above

Now my time is way better spent
Than staring some map down
I'd swear that you are heaven-sent
I'll always stay around!
