Love Poem: Star Child and the Ape of Venus

Star Child and the Ape of Venus

Soundware rustles the tree of being
Sending signals through the spine
Ground water morphs into electronic light
Recyled moonlight spreads through sinews

Now we stand
After so many years coursing
Evolving, twisting, bending
Our canopy sprawls over the horizon
Giving food for critters and bees

In the starry night, apes are calling
They have rewired the trees
To fit their needs
Now well storied in a colony
Receiving manhood and tribal blessing

Venus takes shape beyond the sun
She has seen the centuries pass
With gifted movement she knows
Where the dark cedar grows
Now and forever in the bulk of the sun

She is patient and luminous
Stroking ape child and his striving ways
She wants to hear
What protection to make
For the new generation fervently awake

Another year passes
Mercury spreads his stolen wings
Sending off a messenger from the sky
To teach the prose of highway transit
Lamping a torch to new codes of the road
And revealing hidden messages that pounce in the night

One more month
Love is finalized
Truth now begins
