Love Poem: Speak

Speak

What’s the point to argue
You and me, there’s nothing new
There’s nothing there, at least that I see
But you can tell me if I’m alone in that
If you will ever choose to speak.

Silence is deadly, more so than a misspoken phrase,
Not knowing is more painful that being wrong.
I know the answer is in your heart,
I could tell you if we fit, if you would speak.

I sit and wonder if it was just a joke,
If you fill yourself with denial about your words,
And clarity will come, if you choose to speak.

I tell myself I don’t care, but I can’t lie to myself about you,
Tell me, kiss me, hold me, do whatever you like, but please

Speak.
